April 1 – 9: Ashmont to JFK/UMass, Mattapan Line

From April 1-9: No Red Line trains between JFK/UMass and Ashmont
Free ADA-accessible shuttles are available
There will be an intermediate shuttle stop between JFK/UMass and Savin Hill.
The Commuter Rail will be free between Blue Hill Avenue, JFK/UMass, and South Station.
Bus Route 18 will also be free for the duration of the service change.
From April 1-9: No Mattapan Trolley service
Free and accessible shuttle buses will make all stops between Ashmont and Mattapan.
Riders using shuttle buses during these service changes should budget ample extra travel time.
For example, a rider traveling to Park Street from Mattapan should budget at least an additional 45 – 60 minutes of travel time in addition to their regular commute.

Alternatives along JFK/UMass - Ashmont shuttle route:
Route 17 makes stops at Fields Corner and Andrew. Note: Route 17 does not operate late into the evening and schedule varies depending on the day.
Route 18 makes stops near Shawmut (5-minute walk to Dorchester Ave @ Centre St), at Andrew, and near Savin Hill (5-minute walk to Auckland St @ Bay St). Free for duration of closure.
Alternatives along Mattapan Trolley shuttle route:
From Mattapan, take Route 30 or walk 10 minutes to Blue Hill Avenue Commuter Rail station and ride the Fairmount Line for free.
Route 24 makes stops at Mattapan and Ashmont and
Route 240 makes stops at Ashmont and Central Ave.
BAT Route 12 makes stops at Ashmont and Central Ave. Currently free.
